My name is Landon Jones, a 30-something-year-old trying to persevere, experience joy and remain content in whatever God sees fit for me to live.
My blog is called “Nothing New To Add” primarily because I really don’t have anything to add to the world than that which has already been done under the sun.
The important stuff:
I’m married to my an amazing woman (also my high school sweetheart), and have three children (one son adopted from Russia in 2009 and twins born in 2014). I work as an Assistant Pastor at Riverside Community Church in Columbia, SC. I am from North Augusta, SC, graduated from the University of South Carolina (2004, Journalism) and spent eight years working with Cru in Russia, Memphis, East Tennessee State, Central Asia and USC before transitioning in to the wonderful world of the local church.
I’ve staked my life on the claims of Jesus and of the Bible, and I’m not ashamed to admit it.
The unimportant stuff:
I love sports: I’m a South Carolina Gamecock, an Atlanta Brave (loved them before 1991, so I get to be a true fan) and dabble in liking US Soccer and the Atlanta Falcons.
I love to travel, and could spend all day in an airport. I love to read, but don’t get to as much anymore. I love music: I will listen to Radiohead and Colbie Calliait (Don’t hate.) I love to run, but don’t look like I do. I have a road bike that I don’t really ride, but wish I did. I love movies and television shows, but they can take over my life like when I was obsessed with LOST.
The really unimportant stuff:
I secretly want to be friends with Lecrae. I really want to rock a flat bill cap but my head is too big. I say I would skydive but would probably chicken out. I think I could win the Amazing Race. And, before I die, I very much want to play the Augusta National Golf Course with my dad, where we have spent many great father-son moments through the years.
I am authentic and honest to a fault but you know what you’re going to get. I welcome your input to help me grow.
